FRMS is a powerful and versatile granular synthesizer that merges granular and FM synthesis through an intuitive and flexible layering system. FRMS features a clean and minimal interface designed for both ease of use and control of advanced synthesis techniques. The layout provides intuitive access to its complex features. The main window consists of a status bar at the top, a collapsible menu on the left, two horizontal layer panels in the center, and a performance zone at the bottom.

In the performance zone, you can choose between a standard piano key layout or a hexagonal chorder display for one-touch chord generation. The layer panels include tabs to easily access various parameters and functions, allowing you to view and manage two layers simultaneously. This layout supports an efficient workflow, ideal for both studio production and live performances.

Status Bar Features:

MIDI Learn: Toggle MIDI learn mode for easy mapping of parameters to an external controller.
Clock Source: Choose between internal clock, MIDI clock, or Ableton Link.
Tempo: Set the session tempo (follows host tempo when used as a plugin).
Patch Browser: Quickly navigate and select patches from various banks.

Status Bar Icons:

Disk: Save your current patch or overwrite an existing one, either locally or in the cloud.
Revert: Reset the patch to its last saved state (active if changes were made).
Random: Assign random values to all parameters with one click.
Up/Down Arrows: Cycle through patches within the selected bank.
