WorldBuilder creates complete, evolving cinematic soundscapes in real time: drones, textures, movement, events and living nature. Every sound comes from real-time synthesis, with no samples and no loops, so every world is unique.

Pick a world type, press GENERATE WORLD, and you get a full soundscape that keeps changing for minutes. Version 1.2 adds music on top: cinematic themes, an orchestra you can play from your keyboard, and a MIDI sequencer for writing your own.

🎼 Cinematic Melody Engine

• Writes film-style themes in the key of your world.
• Four styles: Space, Epic, Dark and Choir.
• Seven lead voices: Voice, Duduk, Glass, Space Lead, Choir, Whisper and Auto.
• String orchestra, rhythmic pulse with timpani, and a concert-hall reverb.

🎹 Play It Yourself

• Play the solo voice and the orchestra live from your keyboard or any MIDI track.
• SPLIT mode: solo voice on top, the world below. FULL mode: solo voice on top, orchestral chords below.
• Sustain pedal, pitch bend and mod wheel (vibrato) are supported.
• In your DAW, MIDI channel 2 plays chords and channel 3 plays the melody.

🎛 MIDI Sequencer & Piano Roll

• Generate chord progressions and melodies that always stay melodic and in key.
• Draw, move, resize and delete notes in the built-in piano roll.
• Change the chord of every bar; Snap to Key is optional.
• Loop 2, 4 or 8 bars, synced to your DAW tempo, with Follow DAW start/stop.
• SAVE MIDI to a file, or drag MIDI straight onto a DAW track.

🌀 3D Space & Doppler

• Events, Movement and Nature layers can orbit, fly by or drift around the listener.
• Real Doppler pitch shift, distance, air absorption and head shadow. Best on headphones.

🎬 Cinematic Scores

• A new preset category with 10 complete worlds, each with a scored theme.

• Fixed an issue where the melody could stop after several minutes.
• Fixed an issue where the world sound could cut out after playing certain keys.
• Smart voice management keeps CPU under control during fast playing.
• The melody engine uses no CPU while it is silent.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE

Fully remove the old version from your computer before downloading the new one:

1. Back up your own presets: copy the User folder from %APPDATA%\PlayMode Audio\WorldBuilder\User Presets\.
2. Delete WorldBuilder.vst3 from your VST3 folder.
3. Delete the folder %APPDATA%\PlayMode Audio\WorldBuilder.
4. Install version 1.2, open it once, then copy your User folder back.

Your DAW projects are not affected.

New in 1.2: Cinematic Melody Engine, a MIDI Sequencer with Piano Roll, 3D Space & Doppler, and 10 new Cinematic Scores presets.

Already own WorldBuilder? Version 1.2 is a free update. Replace the plugin file, and your projects and presets are kept.
